Evolution Environmental is a service based business I worked with to boost their online presence and increase client acquisition rate.

Problem Statement

Their website, being their sole online representation, damaged their reputation because of its unappealing aesthetics, leading customers to distrust the services offered.

Project Goal: Increase customer trust and conversion.

A user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing webpage, thats primary function is to let customers contact the business directly.

Research + Implementation

I conducted an extensive analysis using a multi-method approach on the current website to understand the current causes of friction with users. The research included began with a heuristic evaluation and included; competitor analysis, informal interviews and an observational study.

The initial site had numerous problems and overall was dated and non-functional. There is a Miro board attached below where you can view the full audit and evaluation.

Research takeaways:

  • No mobile optimisation - The device used by most of the potential customer base isn't optimised

  • Section Positioning and visibility - Despite being informative some of the most important sections for the end user lack visibility

  • Poor aesthetics is the primary cause in lack of user trust

  • CTA is unobvious - No focus on the CTA causes friction in the service journey

What was our solution for evolution environmental?

The biggest problem was the perceived trust of the current website. For the site to be optimal, actionable steps must be taken in the new site design.

These boiled down into 3 aims:

1) Enhance Confidence

  1. Bespoke imagery to represent brand authentically

  2. Clearly display links to contact information

  3. Provide comprehensive FAQs and detailed information about services

  4. Increase level of design aesthetics

2) Leverage social proof

  1. Allow and encourage users to submit verified (by google) service reviews

  2. Leverage companies Evolution Environmental has worked with and media outlets where the business has appeared

  3. Encouraged Evolution Environmental to respond to negative reviews in a constructive manner to show that you value customer feedback and are committed to improving

3) Transparency

  1. We aimed to ensure clarity from the outset by making the entire service process easily understandable

Impact

Following implementation, user testing of the new mobile design yielded positive results.

Users reported increased confidence and trust in Evolution Environmental's services.

Despite the limited dataset, Evolution Environmental has observed a sizable (400%+) increase in contact from their website, suggesting a positive outcome.
